Simone Biles Meets Caitlin Clark After WNBA Star Breaks Another Record

Caitlin Clark makes history and the entire sports world cheers her on, including Simone Biles.

The 27-year-old Olympic gymnast was live at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, August 28. the Indiana Fever claimed an 84-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

While Clark, 22, put in a strong performance, scored 19 points, five rebounds and five assistsa 3-pointer early in the game, her 86th of the season. This broke the the WNBA rookie 3-point record formerly owned by Rhyne Howard.

After the race, Clark and her teammates were met by Biles and Olympic track and field star Gabby Thomas, 27, who greeted them with hugs and smiles.

“The team was thrilled to meet Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas after our win over @GainbridgeFH. The reaction was amazing πŸ˜‚ πŸ™Œ,” the WNBA team said in a video shared on their social media accounts.

After the sweet encounter, Biles told the camera, “They were so excited. Oh my gosh. It’s like the kid just walks by and goes, ‘Yup.’ But they were so excited, that was so cool.”

She also commented on the encounter by sharing the video on X, writing, “EVERYONE IS WATCHING WOMEN’S SPORTS 🫢🏽 so happy I can go support! My first of many WNBA games 🀞🏽.”

Thomas also spoke out on X, writing, “First WNBA game of many! Had so much fun supporting these stars πŸ™ŒπŸΎ.”

Other stars in attendance at the game included Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson and David Letterman, The Indianapolis Star.

It’s no surprise that Clark continues to break records, recently setting a new WNBA record for assists by rookies.

Speaking last month about her rejection from the US women’s basketball team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, she told reporters that she still has a strong work ethic.

“It reminds me of what it was like when you were in college. And I felt like I was just a freshman. So it just shows you that you have to start working now if you want this to be your dream four years from now,” she said. “So I guess that’s just what I mean, work hard and hopefully you can be there.”
