Knowing that Tuesday was Election Day, the godfathers of the NBA decided to have all thirty teams play on Monday evening: fifteen games with fifteen minute intervals. Not to be outdone, Division I men’s college basketball also kicked off, with another 360 games under its belt. For six hours, I divided my attention across seven screens in my viewing office, following NBA stars and potential NBA draft picks.

For a basketball junkie like me, it was pure luck. Basketball is jazz when played right. And last Monday night, Miles Davis would have been proud.

I’ve chosen one game from each of Monday’s fifteen matches (spread over two posts) to show you exactly what I mean. Let’s dig in!

Welcome to the new NBA, where a 7-4 center is “shown” on a shooter on the three-point line! Victor Wembanyama knows he has to do this here because Norman Powell had the lights out in the beginning.
