Comments and thoughts:

  • This was one of the worst times of the season for Penn State with key players lost to injury, with Drew Allar, Anthony Donkoh and Dani Dennis-Sutton all leaving the game early. However, I thought this was a big step forward for the team’s depth on both sides of the ball.
  • Nolan Rucci filled in well for Donkoh on his return to Madison. The future looks very bright on the offensive line.
  • It took a few series for him to get moving, but the attack with Pribula seemed about as dangerous as the attack with Allar.
  • Three different tight ends had at least ten snaps. How refreshing it is to have an offensive coordinator who has a plan to get everyone involved in the offense.
  • Jaylen Reed and Zakee Wheatley are my defensive MVPs for the season so far. They’ve been asked to do just about anything in Kevin Winston Jr.’s absence, and so far they’ve done it in spades.
