‘SNL’ cast boldly praises Trump in first post-election cold open

The cast of Saturday Night Live brazenly pledged allegiance to newly elected President Donald Trump, claiming they all voted for him in the first cold open since Tuesday’s historic election.

The skit began with cast members solemnly discussing how Trump’s victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris would be “shocking” and “horrifying” to many viewers of the liberal-leaning show.

They then said Trump might seek “revenge” on political opponents, prompting former cast member Kenan Thompson to say, “We at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we’ve been with you all this time.”

“We have never wavered in our support of you, even when others doubted you,” Bowen Yang said sarcastically, followed by each of the main cast members speaking about how much they love, and have always loved, the president-elect.

“Weekend Update” host Colin Jost then said that fellow host Michael Che is the only person who is against Trump.

“I hate how the lamestream media, Michael Che, has to twist it to make you look foolish,” he said.

Dana Carvey – who previously performed as President Joe Biden – appeared on stage as Elon Musk.

“Look at dark MAGA,” Carvey said as he jumped up and down.

“But seriously, I run the country now.”

Comedian Bill Burr hosted the late-night show and delivered an opening comedy monologue in which he roasted both Harris and Trump.

Burr said during his 15-minute monologue that he was “over the moon” that the election is over, leaning into Harris and former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for wearing pantsuits during their failed political efforts against Trump.

“Ladies, enough with the pantsuits; it doesn’t work,” Burr said.

“Stop trying to respect yourself. You don’t win the position, like in policy, you have to clean it up a bit. I’m not saying go all Hooters, but find a happy medium between Applebee’s and your dad didn’t stick around.”

“I know ugly women – feminists – don’t want to hear this message, they just want to tease it a bit; make a farmer feel like he has a chance,” Burr continued to the scattered applause.

Burr then shifted his focus to Trump, calling him a “crazy” and an “orange bigot.”

He joked that Trump only survived his assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 because of his “herky-jerky” dance moves.

‘You just can’t catch that man. The man is a lunatic,” Burr said.

“I mean, he literally got shot and immediately jumped back up and started screaming in the direction the bullets were coming from – unarmed. He is not a wise man.”
