Snow is still falling on Colorado’s Front Range and Eastern Plains

Widespread snow will continue to fall across much of Colorado’s Front Range and its foothills through Wednesday evening.

The heaviest snow fell from Boulder on the southern foothills, Palmer Divide and the east-central Plains, according to the National Weather Service. Total snowfall in those areas will reach 5 to 12 inches by the end of the storm, and will likely result in hazardous road conditions.

The Denver metro area will see about 3 more inches of snow, the NWS said at 10:40 a.m.

The snow will continue through Wednesday evening across much of the Front Range and is expected to be heaviest in a band from along I-76 south to Colorado Springs and Limon.

Meanwhile, snow on the northern and western edges of the storm is easing, and some sunshine is starting to peek through in Silverthorne, NWS reported.

Denver7 meteorologists recorded the following significant snow totals:

  • 1 WSW Rye: 20 inches
  • Ken Caryl: 10.5 inches
  • Lakewood: 10 inches
  • Highlands Ranch: 10 inches
  • Parker: 8.6 inches
  • Littleton: 8.5 inches
  • Lone tree: 8 inches
  • Around Denver: 6-8 inches

A winter storm warning is in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday for the Palmer Divide, Limon, Akron and Byers due to 3 to 16 inches of additional snow.

The snow in Denver will continue into the morning, accumulating feet in some areas

Additionally, a winter weather advisory is in effect for the Denver metro area and the I-76 corridor until 11 p.m. Wednesday due to 1 to 8 inches of additional snow. The southern Front Range and foothills are also under this advisory, with 2 to 3 inches of snow still possible, according to the NWS.
