Lingering snow will make for slick driving conditions in the Denver area. And more snow is on the way.

First Alert meteorologist Alex Lehnert says a low-pressure system is stuck over southern Colorado and Oklahoma, delivering the most snow Colorado has seen this season: “This is all part of the same storm system.”

Denver residents will see another 1 to 3 inches of snow on Thursday.

“We’re looking at nice snowfall,” Lehnert said.

There is a short break on Thursday afternoon. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings are in effect in southeastern Colorado.

People in Douglas and Arapahoe counties will see heavier snowfall.

“Tomorrow we will get another blow from the same system,” says Lehnert.

Southern Colorado will see the most snow from this storm. Lehnert says Trinidad is expected to see 20 inches. In Denver, some parts could get another 10 inches of snow Saturday morning, with the southern part of the city hardest hit.

Some ski areas struggled to open due to warm temperatures and lack of snow before this storm. Now Eldora opens on Thursday. Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Winter Park open tomorrow. Loveland opens Saturday.
