Source – Seahawks trade Jerome Baker, select Ernest Jones from Titans

The Seattle Seahawks are trading linebacker Jerome Baker and a fourth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans for linebacker Ernest Jones IV, a source told ESPN’s Brady Henderson on Wednesday.

It is the second trade made by the Titans, who are also finalizing a trade of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This is the second time this year that Jones has been traded. The Titans acquired Jones from the Rams in August, sending a 2026 fifth-round pick to Los Angeles for Jones and a 2026 sixth-round selection.

Jones, 24, has 44 tackles this season, second on the Titans, who are last in the AFC South at 1-5. Baker has 37 tackles and a sack in his first season with the Seahawks for Seattle, which leads the NFC West with a 4-3 record.

Jones quickly broke into the starting lineup alongside veteran Kenneth Murray Jr. and took on a leadership role, playing 91.2% of Tennessee’s defensive snaps. Baker will replace Jones in the starting lineup.

Rookie fourth-round pick Cedric Gray could also become an option if he is activated from injured reserve. Gray is recovering from a nerve-related shoulder injury. The Titans opened his 21-day window to return on October 7.

Both Jones and Baker are scheduled to become free agents after this season. The Seahawks hope to retain Jones beyond this season, a source told Henderson.

Jones has 364 tackles in four seasons. Baker, who spent his first six seasons with the Miami Dolphins, has 624 tackles and 23.5 sacks in his career.

ESPN’s Turron Davenport contributed to this report.
