Sources – Former Nebraska coach Scott Frost joins Rams as analyst

Former Nebraska head coach Scott Frost is leaving for the NFL, where he is expected to become a senior football analyst for the Los Angeles Rams, sources told ESPN.

Frost was the head coach at Nebraska from 2018 to 2022, where he excelled as a quarterback in the 1990s. He had a 16-31 record as coach of the Cornhuskers and was fired in September 2022 after a 1-2 start.

Before returning to his alma mater, Frost emerged as one of the most sought-after coaches in college football. He coached UCF to a 13-0 season in 2017, including the AAC title and a Peach Bowl victory over No. 7 Auburn. He was the hottest coach on the coaching carousel after 2017, when he selected Nebraska after a meeting with Florida.

Before that, Frost quickly rose through the college coaching ranks. He was an assistant at Oregon from 2009-14, a period in which the Ducks went 79-11 and appeared in the national title game. Frost was Marcus Mariota’s offensive coordinator during his Heisman Trophy-winning 2014 season. He took the job at UCF in 2016 and his overall record there was 19-7 in his two seasons.

As quarterback at Nebraska, he led the Huskers to a 13-0 season and a national title in 1997. He then played five years in the NFL as a defensive back, a career that spanned 59 games.
