The Springbok Women’s Sevens outperformed Fiji on Tuesday at the Stade de France with a final score of 21-15.

This victory was a milestone for the team, especially considering their difficult start to the tournament.

Coach Renfred Dazel expressed his pride and relief, saying Springboks Rugby“I am very happy for this group of players that we were able to end the season in this way.”

The South African team showed remarkable progress throughout the tournament.

After suffering defeats in their opening games, they built on their encouraging form from Monday’s close games against Great Britain and Japan to secure this crucial victory over Fiji, the bronze medallists from the previous Olympics.

Nadine Roos emerged as an excellent player and made a significant contribution to the victory with two tries and three conversions.

The team’s performance showed they can compete at Olympic level and offers a promising outlook for the future of women’s rugby sevens in South Africa.
