Fresh off a serious scare from Alabama, South Carolina football will once again take the field against an opponent wearing crimson in its uniform.

The Gamecocks travel to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners for the first time in the history of the two programs, and they will do so as SEC foes. LaNorris Sellers and Raheim “Rocket” Sanders come into Norman this season at 3-3 to play the 4-2 Sooners, who are licking their wounds after a drubbing at the hands of archrival Texas.

It’s a period of highs and lows for Shane Beamer’s crew as the Gamecocks go from unranked Oklahoma to No. 14 Texas A&M before a stretch that features Vanderbilt, Missouri, Wofford and Clemson in Rivalry Week.

South Carolina has made bowls in each of Beamer’s first two seasons, a streak he ultimately hopes to continue.
