The Pittsburgh Steelers went into halftime against the Denver Broncos with a 10-0 lead, thanks to tight end Darnell Washington’s first NFL touchdown and a short field goal, but kicker Chris Boswell made it through the break.

Denver is probably lucky to be down by just 10 points after two very questionable decisions against the Steelers on the final drives of the team’s half. Offensive tackle Broderick Jones was assessed three penalties in one draft, the last of which was a very tricky tack hold that negated a huge reception by wide receiver George Pickens.

On the Steelers’ final drive, wide receiver Van Jefferson was intercepted, negating a Pickens touchdown catch. It didn’t seem like a play we see every team in the NFL make multiple times per game without the officials calling attention to it.

The Steelers defense was masterful in the first half. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has just 39 passing yards and Denver’s leading rusher is running back Tyler Badie who has 16 yards on one carry. Outside linebackers TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith each have a sack in the first half.
