Steph Curry lost it after SVP pulled him over the Panthers

It’s not easy being a Carolina Panthers fan right now. The franchise is in one of the worst spots you can be in after trading away a bunch of picks to move up and get a quarterback at No. 1 and that QB doesn’t work out. Bryce Young’s struggles in his second season led to him being benched for Andy Dalton, who was benched at the end of their most recent loss to the Commanders to give Young some reps deliver. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears are thriving, thanks in large part to the players they drafted (particularly Caleb Williams) with all the picks Carolina sent them to move up and acquire Young.

There is no clear path for the Panthers to get out of the hole they have dug themselves, and that means at least another year or two at the bottom of the NFL until they can replenish their roster with top talent. That’s a really tough situation to be in as a fan, but there are still plenty of Carolina diehards doing their best to stick with the team at a really lean spot in their franchise history.

One of those is Stephen Curry, as the North Carolina native rides through thick and thin for his Panthers, and on Monday night the Warriors star joined Scott Van Pelt for an interview during halftime of Monday Night Football ahead of the start of the NBA season. At the end of their conversation, Steph had to shout out his beloved Panthers, to which Van Pelt could only respond with “good luck with that,” causing Steph to lose the laugh altogether.

It was a great response from SVP, who is as good as they come with athlete interviews, and it was clearly not what Steph expected to hear after a “Go Panthers!” but that was really all you could say. The good news for Steph is that with the Warriors season about to get underway, he has plenty to focus on at work to distract him from his Panthers struggles.
