The Dow rose 118 points, or 0.3%, to 41,726, after climbing to its session high of 41,981 following the release of the FOMC statement. The S&P 500 rose 0.4% to 5,655, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.7% to about 17,753, according to FactSet data.
