Storms threaten Houston this Halloween. Will it ruin trick-or-treating?

HOUSTON, Texas – Halloween begins Thursday with warm and muggy conditions across much of the Houston area.

It is expected to continue raining for the rest of the week.

KPRC 2 is on the roads of Houston monitoring the storms. From our storm trackers we can see gray skies and some heavy, scattered showers along southeast Houston toward the urban areas.

According to our meteorologists monitoring the storms, the front is expected to approach the immediate Houston area Thursday afternoon, bringing with it a patchy line of showers and thunderstorms.

Some of these storms can produce very heavy rainfall. Currently, the threat of severe weather appears to be low; However, there remains a small chance of gusty winds and lightning – which we will see on Thursday morning.
