Sunday Ticket is not getting cheaper. It is getting more expensive.

Via John Ourand of Puck.news , the out-of-market game pack is now available via the Apple app store, for viewing on an iPad or iPhone. The cost? $679.99.

Combined with RedZone it costs $739.99 per year.

The league told Ourand that the prices are none of its business: “The NFL has no control over Sunday Ticket prices and does not set or receive any additional fees associated with its sale.”

As Ourand notes, Apple takes a 30 percent commission on everything sold in the store, and that commission is built into the price.

Regardless of the NFL’s claims about the price, the transcript of the Sunday Ticket lawsuit made clear that the league wants it to be a “premium” product that complements the games on local CBS and Fox networks. The league wants a sufficient percentage of fans to choose to watch the games available on local CBS and Fox affiliates in order to protect the billions it makes from those networks.
