Jaylen Brown blew kisses to the crowd. Al Horford clenched his fists. Head coach Joe Mazzulla kissed the court.

Emotions were high for the Boston Celtics as they received their championship rings on Tuesday. The pregame ceremony included the raising of their historic 18th championship banner – and jewelry with unique details.

There are multiple references to Boston’s dominant 2023-2024 season, including the team’s ringside mantra of “Whatever It Takes.”

Created in collaboration with Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, the ring features 84 points of diamonds on the side edge – the Celtics’ winning percentage in the 2024 playoffs. The word “champions” includes 80 white diamonds, a nod to Boston’s 80 combined regular-season and playoff wins. Their combined record, 80-21, is also listed on the side of the ring.

The TD Garden’s distinctive parquet pattern is etched into both sides of the ring, alongside the years of the Celtics’ previous championship seasons at the edge of the ring.

According to the Celtics, for the first time in history, an NFC chip has been installed in every ring. This technology allows each recipient to place their phone against the parquet design on the inside of the ring to see a video of the jewelry and how it is made.

“We worked closely with the Celtics owners on the ring design,” Arasheben said in a press release. “The Celtics had 17 championships before last season, which means they’ve had 17 championship rings for us. We all wanted to make sure the 18th would be the best and most memorable.”

There are also nods to the team’s rich history.

Eighteen emerald-cut diamonds on the outer ring represent the franchise’s championships. The face of the ring features 30 points of diamonds in “world” representing the seasons Boston has played at TD Garden.

Arasheben, who has designed the last four NBA championship rings, has a penchant for hidden details in his work. The Denver Nuggets had another ring in their ring. The Golden State Warriors had a secret hatch. The Celtics’ bling is no different.

On the inside of the top of the ring is a piece of parquet flooring with the date and score of Boston’s clinching game on one side. The championship banner and each player’s jersey number are on the opposite side.

The Celtics’ quest for a record-extending 19th championship banner began with a game against the New York Knicks.

On Monday, Mazzulla brushed off the pressure to win another title. During the pregame ceremony before the banner was raised, Jayson Tatum hugged it.

“Let’s do it again,” he said.
