Tanssi Foundation has extended its blockchain infrastructure protocol to Ethereum, enabling rapid deployment of decentralized networks known as Actively Validated Services (AVS) in minutes. According to the announcement, this expansion is facilitated by a partnership with Symbiotic, a permissionless resttaking protocol.

Tanssi’s integration with Ethereum enables developers to create highly customizable and decentralized networks while leveraging Ethereum’s security. By leveraging Symbiotic’s resttaking protocol, Tanssi-based networks can access billions of dollars in shared security of staked ETH.

“Tanssi provides developers in the Symbiotic ecosystem with an easy-to-use interface to one of the most advanced and proven blockchain development stacks,” said Felix Lutsch, Head of Ecosystem at Symbiotic.

He added that through integration with Symbiotic’s shared security protocol, projects using Tanssi can tap into Ethereum’s liquidity and launch an appchain with resttaking functionality within minutes.

Restaking involves using an already staked digital asset in a different layer, hence the name, meaning that the mainnet and that new infrastructure share the same validators. Projects are thus allowed to build solutions outside of the mainnet, which helps with the scalability of their decentralized applications, known as AVS.

The partnership introduces new capabilities for developers by integrating Substrate’s flexible software development kit (SDK) for full customization. The Tanssi framework enables developers to implement AVS using pre-built templates and modules, achieving full decentralization without relying on a single sequencer.

“Decentralized networks, also known as Actively Validated Services (AVSs), open up new opportunities for applications that don’t fit into the rollup model. Tanssi is changing the game by providing a fully customizable, decentralized environment where developers can launch Ethereum-based networks in minutes,” said Francisco Agosti, co-founder of Tanssi.

Tanssi has raised $9 million from investors including Arrington Capital, SNZ, HashKey, Borderless, and Fenbushi. With over 2,000 application-specific blockchains on its testnet, Tanssi aims to set a new standard in the Ethereum ecosystem, with its mainnet expected to launch in early 2025.
