Taylor Swift releases ‘Tortured Poets Anthology’ vinyl, Eras Tour Book

It’s starting to look a lot like Swift-mas: Taylor Swift has a few big releases on the way for the holidays — a first CD/vinyl edition of “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology,” plus a book commemorating the Eras tour. The products will be released exclusively at Target on Black Friday, the singer announced on Tuesday.

The expanded “Anthology” version of her latest album will finally be released in both physical formats, with four acoustic bonus tracks added to the 31-song collection previously only available as a digital release, now totaling 35 songs. The vinyl release includes four marbled, translucent LPs, accompanied by a 12-by-12-inch poster. The four-LP set will retail for $59.99 and the CD edition for $17.99.

Meanwhile, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book” is a 256-page book expected to contain more than 500 images, featuring performance photos from every segment of the three-hour-plus show, rehearsals and behind-the-scenes images of instruments, costumes, set pieces and designer sketches , plus Swift’s personal reflections and notes. It retails for $39.99.

“The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” had previously been released as a digital download and stream just two hours after the standard edition in April, but until now LPs and CDs have only been available for the 16-track standard edition.

Swift said in a social media post that information about an international release for the products would be coming soon.

The November 29 release of the book, CD and vinyl in Target’s North American stores will precede the day the products become available for online sale through the retailer’s online store and app.

The four acoustic tracks being added to the “Anthology” releases were not included in the announcement. Swift has already released a number of acoustic versions of limited edition, digital-only versions of the standard album ‘Tortured Poets’.

The release of the “Anthology” version of “Tortured Poets” in physical formats will certainly have a major impact on the charts. To date, the release (counting the standard and deluxe editions all together) has spent 15 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 album chart, a personal record for Swift and something that has only been achieved by a handful of artists in history of Billboard has been achieved. It will almost certainly regain the top spot for at least a week after the release of CD and vinyl “Anthology,” and perhaps longer, barring some unexpectedly strong competition that gets a surprise release in the same time frame.

Swift will soon return to North American stages for the final leg of her nearly two-year Eras Tour, the most commercially successful in history. She’ll once again play nine dates in the US, starting with a three-night stand in Miami this weekend, then do nine shows in Canada, wrapping it all up in Vancouver from December 6 to 8.
