Terence Crawford wears a custom belt as he walks out the Nebraska Huskers in front of 87,000 fans

Terence Crawford has performed in front of large crowds over the years, but nothing has ever quite compared to what he found on Saturday.

The pound-for-pound boxer was assigned to escort his hometown team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, to a major college football game.

A sold-out crowd of 86,906 packed Memorial Stadium to watch Crawford’s favorite team take on the Colorado Buffaloes in a thrilling game.

The former undisputed welterweight champion wore a different kind of belt when he led the Huskers to their 1994 national championship team

It looked like one of the many boxing belts won, but upon closer inspection it became clear that it was a unique belt, as it had the team logo on it.

Footage from the event shows Crawford sprinting out of the tunnel with the players as they extended their perfect season record to 2-0.

The Huskers displayed a dominant defense and won 28-10, taking revenge for the 36-14 loss they suffered last year at the hands of Colorado.

After the game, Crawford shared several photos and videos of his day on social media, with the caption, “Today was a good day!!! GO BIG RED!!!”

‘Bud’ saw his comments section flooded by American football fans.

One of them said: “I knew it was over when I saw Terence leading them out.”

Another commented: “This needs to be inflated with the final score for the crib.”

A third person added: “We knew we were in trouble when you came out with the belt Champ.”

Crawford is currently enjoying a quiet period after recently winning a world championship in the fourth weight class by defeating Israil Madrimov in a light middleweight title fight.

The 36-year-old saw his remarkable 11-fight knockout streak, which stretched back to 2016, come to an end when he earned a controversial unanimous decision over the previously undefeated fighter from Uzbekistan.

Canelo Alvarez was expected to be the next to win, but His Excellency Turki Alalshikh claims the Mexican boxing superstar has rejected his offer.

The Saudi boxing leader indicated that he was no longer interested in the fight and that he wanted Crawford to fight undefeated American star Vergil Ortiz Junior instead.

Crawford certainly isn’t short on options. Ryan Garcia recently called him an “overhyped bum” and said he wants to fight the Nebraska native to prove it.

Only time will tell who Crawford will next put his 41-0 record on the line against.
