Wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be out for the remainder of the 2024 season, a major blow to the Houston Texans.

In the third quarter, Texans leading wide receiver Stefon Diggs left the game with a knee injury and did not return to the game. Here’s what happened and his status.

On Tuesday, October 29, the Texans provided an injury update. Diggs suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Diggs injured his knee on a route in the third quarter against Kenny Moore. It was a non-contact injury after he planted his knee while making a cut inside. The Texans later ruled Diggs out of the game.

He hurt his right knee during the game, the same knee he injured in 2021 and 2016, and missed time both years.

During a press conference on Monday afternoon, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said the team is “still evaluating” Diggs following the injury.

“We’ll see where he is.”

Diggs did not return to the game, which the Texans won 23-20. However, he was able to walk off the field to the locker room under his own power.

Although he was able to walk to the locker room, further evaluation revealed that Diggs suffered more damage and a torn ACL.
