Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers almost perfect in first half vs. Vanderbilt

AUSTIN – The No. 5 Texas Longhorns led the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores 21-10 at halftime of Saturday’s SEC game in Nashville.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was picked off on the game’s first drive after his pass was tipped high in the air, but he bounced back in a big way and finished the first half 19 of 21, passing for 211 yards and three touchdowns. He completed 17 consecutive passes after the opening pick.

His favorite target was DeAndre Moore Jr., who had five catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.

The Commodores quickly answered the opening takeaway with an 18-yard rushing touchdown from quarterback Diego Pavia. However, the Texas defense did its job after that and kept it under control for the rest of the half.
