FC Barcelona exacted revenge on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last night with a resounding 4-1 defeat at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

After being on the receiving end of several drubbings from the German giants in recent years, the Blaugrana gave them a taste of their own medicine, and did it in some style.

Raphinha, who looks like a very different player under new manager Hansi Flick, led the way with three goals, while Robert Lewandowski also scored one against his former employers.

Pedri, Marc Casado, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez and Pau Cubarsi also excelled on a special night for Barça.

Thomas Muller’s message for Barcelona

After the 4-1 thrashing they suffered, Bayern Munich veteran and club legend Thomas Müller sent a classy message congratulating Barcelona and Hansi Flick on the result.

“Congratulations to FC Barcelona and my former coach Hansi Flick for their victory against us last night. To be honest, I don’t want to analyze the game too much. We will stay together as a team and focus on our next game on Sunday. Have a nice evening,’ he wrote.

Müller has previously not been shy about talking about Bayern’s recent dominance over Barcelona. The German icon had even issued a playful warning to Flick ahead of the match on Wednesday.

However, the Blaugrana made sure they sent their own message on the field to Muller & co. with a striking display.

With form and momentum on their side, Barcelona will now shift their focus to Saturday El Clasico against Real Madrid.
