Technivorm Moccamaster KBT Coffee Maker

This iconic design consistently came first in our taste tests. It’s a reliable workhorse with a 40-ounce capacity that brews a nuanced, flavorful pot. It comes with an insulated carafe and a unique filter basket switch that adjusts the steep time.

Other things to know: Lacks extra features from our other picks, like timers or complex settings, but coffee connoisseurs will appreciate the taste. Pricey, but much longer warranty (five years) and Moccamaster’s reputation for longevity make it a worthwhile investment.

Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee maker

Make mornings better with this relatively inexpensive machine that reliably makes good coffee. It has some of the most useful features of all the cheap coffee makers we tested, including a self-cleaning function and user control over the hotplate’s keep-warm temperature.

Other things to know: The water tank was the hardest to fill during our testing, with readings that are almost impossible to read. Three-year warranty, the longest of any model we tested. Price reflects in cart.

Nespresso Vertuo Plus

If convenience and caffeine are your main concerns when it comes to your morning coffee, then the Nespresso VertuoPlus is the perfect machine. With an automatic lid and one-button operation, it’s effortless to use and can brew espressos, 5-ounce gran lungos, and standard 8-ounce cups of coffee.

Other things to know: Mugs are unstable on the drip tray. We didn’t like the coffee, but it was still a big step up from Keurig’s. Only uses Vertuo pods, which cost more than original pods. For sale in grey.

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

This smart oven performs just as well as an air fryer as it does a toaster oven, offering specific settings for dehydrating, proofing, and slow cooking. In our tests, food crisped up faster than traditional toaster ovens. It also has a generous capacity for two racks and offers multiple fan speeds.

Other things to know: Even on sale, significantly more expensive than our other picks. The fan speed of “Super Convection” is incredibly loud. Bread did not toast as evenly as other choices. We prefer a pizza stone to the included non-stick pizza pan. Matches the lowest price we’ve seen.

GIR Mini Flip silicone spatula

This silicone coated spatula is a must if you use non-stick cookware as it will not scratch the pan. The angled, tapered edge slips easily under brittle cookies and fried eggs without crumbling them. It is easy to clean, with no grooves that can trap food.

Other things to know: Fiberglass core with a seamless silicone exterior. Not as sharp or dexterous as metal spatulas. Deal price is available in black, red and white.

Thermapen ONE thermometer

Prepare for Turkey Day with the fastest and most accurate instant-read model we’ve tested. It has a bright, rotating backlit screen and a wide temperature range. Moreover, it is waterproof, buttonless and fully automatic.

Other things to know: The sales price has recently increased. There are few recipes that require immediate accuracy to the degree. The switch to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit is inconveniently located in the battery compartment. Deal available in red, green, white and a handful of other colors. Shipping is free.

Nutribullet large blender

We are impressed with both the performance and price of this blender. It emulsified mayonnaise on the first try in our tests.

Other things to know: Our nut butter test failed, but we have yet to find a $100 blender that can pass this test. We found the KitchenAid K150 (our budget pick) to be a much more elegant machine, both in performance and appearance. Use promotional code SHOP15; free Kohl’s account required.

KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-quart stand mixer with tilting head (refurbished)

Quiet and uncomplicated, this is definitely the best stand mixer you can get for its performance, versatility and price. That’s why it’s been our favorite since 2013. With 10 speeds, this kitchen workhorse that you can buy for life is clearly built to last and mix nimbly without straining.

Other things to know: One of the fastest first speeds of any mixer we tested and not ½ speed. Comes with a 5 liter stainless steel mixing bowl, a flat beater, a dough hook and a six-wire whisk. Only available in black at Walmart. One year warranty at Walmart; two-year Allstate warranty through eBay.

Philips 3000 Series Airfryer L HD9252/91

This air fryer cooks food faster and more evenly than any other we tested in its price range. The basket is easy to install, remove and clean, and the whole thing takes up little space on the counter.

Other things to know: Just under 3 liter capacity. The touchscreen is full of useless preset programs. Basket is heavy and poorly balanced. Two year warranty.
