The biggest round of snow arrives tonight

ALERT DAYS

  • TONIGHT UNTIL 3am (21/11 – snow, cold and windy)

FINAL PREDICTION

Here’s WAVE News Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned with your forecast.

SHORT LINES

  • NEXT 12: Moderate snow and gusty winds bring poor visibility, wet roads and light, grassy snow accumulations
  • SHORT TERM: The snow cleared during Friday’s commute, leaving wet roads, clouds, drizzle and gusty winds
  • LONG TERM: Increasing sunshine and milder air through the weekend before rain returns on Monday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A widespread round of moderate snow and gusty winds will arrive just after sunset tonight, causing poor visibility for those on the road. The roads remain wet, but a layer of snow is possible for a short time on grass surfaces. The low will be in the low 30s tonight.

Friday will be a raw day with cloudy skies, some patchy drizzle and wind gusts up to 30 MPH throughout the day. Highs only reach 40 degrees in the afternoon.

Look for another cold Friday evening with lingering clouds and lows dropping into the 30s across the area.

Saturday sees the weather improve as high pressure from the west helps break up our clouds and raise our high temperatures into the 50s for many.

We will see the thermometer closer to 60 degrees on Sunday as warm air arrives accompanied by some sunshine.

Our next big weather maker arrives on Monday with showers and even some thunder, but those traveling on Tuesday should be in good shape.

Most of Wednesday also looks good, but rain chances increase late Wednesday through Thanksgiving. We will be watching this system closely as it could be another major rainmaker!
