Ticketmaster says it will be the first ticketing company to take advantage of new features introduced to Apple Wallet with iOS 18. According to a blog post from the company, Ticketmaster tickets viewed in the Apple app can show enhanced information such as venue maps, parking options, directions, local weather forecasts and recommended listening of Apple Music. Teams and event spaces can also choose to add links to their own apps or websites that customers can access through their Wallet tickets.

The company is using the new technology for the first time at two sporting events this year and says it will roll out the capabilities to more events in 2025. While Ticketmaster is touting its role as the first adopter of the new Wallet ticketing experience, the new features won’t just be available to that company. Considering that Ticketmaster’s PR images included the new features, it seems likely that the companies had reached an agreement on how they would jointly promote the updates.

Apple Wallet features several upgrades in the latest version of the operating system, such as a new feature for faster money transfers. The initial rollout of iOS 18 last month had some good things going for it, but the big debut of Apple Intelligence likely won’t happen until then.
