The Washington Commanders got a shock Sunday when rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels landed awkwardly on his chest and was removed from the game. Commanders indicated he had a rib injury and Daniels did not return.

Washington won the game against Carolina 40-7, so Daniels did not have to return. During Sunday’s game, Daniels’ mother tweeted that her son was doing well. Daniels rejoined his teammates on the sideline after entering the locker room for an X-ray.

After the game, head coach Dan Quinn said he had no update on Daniels. However, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler indicated good news for Daniels and the Commanders.

On Monday, Fox NFL insider Jordan Schultz had the latest on Daniels.

That’s good news. However, Washington will play it safe with Daniels. The Commanders won’t send him back for next week’s showdown with the Chicago Bears and No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams if he isn’t 100%.

Quinn will address the media Monday at 3:30 PM ET.
