The motorsports park where Brooke Carlton died is closing

A motorsports park in California where a 9-year-old girl died in a ‘freak accident’ earlier this year has been permanently closed as a legal flight plays over her death.

Little star Brooke Carlton suffered fatal injuries while riding at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore in June after a child on another bike crashed into her.

The park was sued after the tragedy and eventually closed when the property owner, who was embroiled in the lawsuit, kicked them off the land, the park said on social media.

“The owner of the site has canceled our agreement because they are also involved in the lawsuit,” the park said in a Facebook post.

“It would be in their interests if the track were closed. I can’t say what I blame them for,” the post said.

The park’s owners said both the landlord and the city council were “good to deal with” following the tragic accident that killed young Brooke.

The girl was thrown from her bicycle and left unconscious on the ground after colliding with another child rider, police said.

Good Samaritans gave her CPR until paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she died.

The other rider escaped with only minor injuries.

“We are really sad about the situation. This was such a freak accident, as the parent said,” Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park had said in an Instagram post after Carlton’s death.

“This is not a time to bash the track, but a time to remember this little girl and support her family. We are a community and we will also do our part to support the family.”

Brooke was an ambassador for the motorsports clothing brand Go Fast Girls and loved “being on the track, competing with other girls and going fast,” according to her profile on the website.

“For those who REALLY knew Brooke, she was a real hothead who knew what she wanted and there was no way around it,” family friend Ally Giles wrote in the description of a GoFundMe fundraiser in support of her family.
