Viewership for “The Penguin” continues to rise.

According to Warner Bros. viewing data. Discovery scored episode 4 of “The Penguin” 1.7 million cross-platform viewers on Max and HBO in the US.

That’s up 21.43% from the series premiere on September 19, which scored 1.4 million cross-platform viewers in its Thursday debut, before the spinoff series “The Batman” moved to its regular Sunday night timeslot. Viewership for Episode 4 was also up from Episode 2, which attracted 1.6 million cross-platform viewers.

Marking a turning point for Cristin Milioti’s Sofia, the fourth episode of ‘The Penguin’ scored an impressive viewership as it took on the rival NFL Sunday Night Football and the MLB National League Championship Series.

With just under a month of viewing, the series’ premiere episode has attracted 13 million U.S. viewers, up from its previous viewership of 10.4 million after 11 days of viewing. Following its debut on Thursday, “The Penguin’s” opening weekend of Thursday, September 19 through Sunday, September 22 drew 5.3 million viewers.

Episode 4 of “The Penguin” paused the Oz (Colin Farrell) plot to provide a backstory for Sofia, showing how she was sent to Arkham and how her time in the asylum transformed her.

“It was exciting,” Milioti told TheWrap about filming Episode 4. “That stuff was very dark, but to get to show up in that Arkham uniform and show that and explore that and see how she changes. We definitely talked about modulation, and how to show the stages she’s in and being challenged in the ways she’s challenged and when she finally snaps and goes crazy.

In addition to Farrell and Milioti, The Penguin also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen in recurring roles.

Episodes 1-4 of ‘The Penguin’ are now streaming on Max. New episodes debut Sunday on HBO and Max.
