The Ohio State men’s soccer team is the number one ranked team in the country. They have been solid all season, with their only loss coming on the road at UCLA. They also advanced through the Big Ten Tournament and clinched the Big Ten Tournament Championship on Sunday.

They were up against the perfect opponent: the Michigan Wolverines. It’s a rivalry between these two, no matter what sport they play. TTUN wanted to spoil the Buckeyes’ great season and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Instead, the Ohio State Buckeyes did what they always do. They just keep winning. This time they defeated TTUN 1-0 to seal the Big Ten Tournament Championship. With this WWI, the Buckeyes will also secure a number one seed in the NCAA tournament.

The Buckeyes were very good in this game. Parker Grinstead scored the winning goal from a corner kick. What made this game even better is that it took place in Columbus in front of a record crowd. 8,938 people saw the Buckeyes win the Big Ten Tournament Championship.

Ohio State has a real chance to win the national championship, something they have never done in the history of the program. The Buckeyes won’t be an easy team to beat no matter who draws them in the NCAA Tournament. There are two possible opponents for them.

As the number one seed, the Buckeyes will host Western Michigan of SIUE on Nov. 24. That will be their first game of the NCAA Tournament, a game they are certainly expected to win. Of course, everything is more difficult when the NCAA Tournament starts.
