A MICHELIN-starred restaurant has promised to slash prices next month, with diners now able to dine for just £3.50.

St John in Smithfield, London, has temporarily reduced its menu prices to match what people paid when the restaurant first opened in 1994.

In honor of the restaurant’s 30th anniversary, the historic menu prices have been reintroduced.

According to the website of restaurant St John, the reduced price only applies from Monday to Friday from September 9 to 27.

The restaurant is described on its website as one of the “leading proponents of ‘nose-to-tail’ cooking” and operates a sustainable ethos that uses the whole animal.

This means lucky guests can sample the Roasted Marrow and Parsley Salad for just £4.20 this festive season, down from the original £16.

While a Welsh rarebit costs just £3.50 and the Eccles Cake with Lancashire cheese is £4.

However, guests who are eager to dine may be disappointed to find that the entire event is sold out.

According to the Michelin Guide, the St John group is able to create a “joyful experience” with “little ceremony”.

It also said, “This is the place to try new things.”

Since the restaurant group consists of three locations in total, bargain hunters would be wise to keep an eye out for any future festivities at the other locations.

This includes Bread and Wine on Commercial Street and another in Marylebone.
