What is the US Surf Open (USO)?

The US Surf Open is the largest surfing competition in the world and an important event organized by the World Surf League (WSL)The event was founded in 1959 as the West Coast Surfing Championship and has had several names since then, eventually changing to the US Surf Open in 1994.

This prestigious event attracts top athletes from all over the world and is an important stop on the WSL Challenger Series and Longboard Tour.

What to Expect from the 2024 US Surf Open

This nine-day festival, which attracts nearly 500,000 visitors annually, will host elite surfers competing for points on the WSL Challenger Series and WSL Longboard Tour.

Fans can also look forward to fun activities and entertainment, including:

• Music performances: Enjoy live music every day on the Beach Bar stageimmediately exclusive ticket concert of Sublime with Makua Rothman on August 3.
• Daily Activities: Join yoga classes, watch live art demonstrations, check out the pop-up zone, and enjoy food and drinks from local vendors.
• Athletes who sign up for the Winner’s Circle: The official WSL store will Athletes signing with the winners from the heat of the dayevery day from 2pm to 3pm, where fans can bring merchandise to be signed.
• Movie nights: Enjoy surfing themed movies on select evenings, including showings of “Lakey Peterson” and “Concrete Dreams”.”
