The NBA Cup, formerly called the season tournament, has arrived as the Detroit Pistons hosted the Miami Heat on Tuesday in the first of four group games.

The Pistons lost in the fourth game of the season 106-98 on October 28 in Miami, despite 24 points from Cade Cunningham. They lost the fourth quarter 28-19 that night, while shooting 27.3%, without a field goal to start the quarter for almost five minutes.

A win would go a long way in the Pistons’ quest to advance out of group play and reach the NBA Cup quarterfinals. They play the second game in Toronto on Friday, then play another NBA Cup on November 29 in Indiana and December 3 vs. Milwaukee.
