ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ tips and answers for Wednesday, November 20

Hey, there! I hope you’re having an excellent week so far.

I usually leave my daily recommendations at the end of the column, but today I’ll leave you a bonus tip here. If you have a Netflix subscription, you can access some truly fantastic games on iPhone, iPad and Android devices at no extra cost. A few months ago I helped put together a list of suggestions, and I think the service really has something for everyone at this point.

Netflix recently added Monument Valley and the sequel to the library. They are relaxing, meditative puzzle games. A brand new third title in the series is coming next month. I’m looking forward to that.

Another game I can’t say enough good things about is… Poinpymy game of the year 2022. I just started again and it continues to be an absolute joy.

Today NYT Connections hints and answers for thursday november 21st are coming soon.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As with Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have a NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connectionsso you can go back and play the games you missed.

Apart from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group — types of shirts (FLANNEL, OXFORD, POLO, TEE)

Damn, my four-match streak is over. Here’s how I fared:

Yes, I got a red herring-ed. I don’t think that’s really a verb, but I’ll make it one.

As much as I enjoyed seeing BOBA and FETT together as the first two words, it was immediately clear that they had nothing to do with Star Wars (I’m not a huge fan, but I do enjoy them!). As such, BOBA had to go along with the rest of the greens – even though I made a mistake by accidentally adding JELLY first. Oops!

The yellow colors were next because they were clear enough. I thought that’s where I got it from. I was very confident that SPONGE, JELLY, and TORTE were some kind of desserts, but I didn’t know what would go with them. I tried STAR, CORAL and PENN but to no avail.

In retrospect, STAR should have made the blues a bit clearer, but it didn’t click at all. I suspected there was some sort of pun going on with FETT, but I couldn’t figure it out. It’s also a bit surprising that we got two pasta-related groups in just a few days.

For the tape, the purple group refers to fettuccine, penne, tortelli/tortellini/tortelloni and ziti.

Unfortunately. A new series starts tomorrow.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Make sure to check out my blog for tips and the fix for Friday’s match if you need it.

PS I guess it makes sense to follow a Star Wars recommendation today, but I didn’t like it Boba Fett’s Book.

I was planning to watch the Disney+ series Andor but that hasn’t happened yet (I just started another great series on that service that I’ll talk about soon). Andor is a prequel series to Villain onewhich follows a group of rebels trying to steal the schematics for the Death Star. I’ve seen that movie and it’s a blast.
