ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ tips and answers for Wednesday, November 6

Hey there! I hope you are taking care of yourself and your loved ones during what has been a rather eventful week in the world so far. At least there is a new game Connections that we can concentrate on for a few minutes. For what it’s worth, I have a nice recommendation at the end for a song that you might enjoy too.

Today NYT Connections hints and answers for thursday november 7th are coming soon.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying that you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As with Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have a NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connectionsso you can go back and play the games you missed.

Apart from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group – food related junk (HASH, SALAD, SCRAMBLE, STEW)

  • Blue group – information on a museum sign (ARTIST, MEDIUM, TITLE, YEAR)

Not a perfect game today, but my total winning streak is up to 11. Here’s how I fared:

I opened with a guess of SCRAMBLE, SALAD, MEDIUM and HASH as ways to cook eggs. As a result, I was one away from a group.

I turned my attention elsewhere and tried something else with ARTIST, NAME, IMAGE and TITLE (like you’d see on a Spotify profile, I think?), but it didn’t come close. In retrospect, NAME didn’t quite fit in. However, swapping MEDIUM and YEAR gave me the blues.

The greens then became clear. Since there were only four reasonable cooking-related words left, I pushed them aside to grab the purple words. Then I wrapped everything with yellow.

I thought there was some sort of pun going on with EGADS and YOGA in particular, because they didn’t really correspond to anything else. The purple shades, as far as I know, refer to Salvador Dali, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and Francisco de Goya. I’m not familiar with Degas and only vaguely remember De Goya’s work, so I doubt I would have ever discovered this group.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Make sure to check out my blog for tips and the fix for Friday’s match if you need it.

PS I don’t have a super strong personal connection to today’s song recommendation. It just showed up thanks to the shuffle feature of my mega playlist this week and I can’t get it out of my head. I actually didn’t know this was such a big hit at the time, as it hit the top five in Canada and Britain as well as the top 20 in the US.

Right now I just feel like I need to dance out all the tension in the air. This song works very well for that. And hey, I hope you enjoy it too, maybe even while doing your best Tarzan impression:
