Tropical Storm Oscar threatens Cuba with life-threatening floods and mudslides

Tropical Storm Oscar continues to lash parts of eastern Cuba with heavy rain and heavy rain windwhich leads to fear of life-threatening situations floods And mudslides after the first hurricane came ashore late Sunday afternoon.

Oscar made landfall twice on Sunday – both as a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 80 mph. The first landfall occurred early Sunday morning on Great Inagua Island in the Bahamas, and the second was just before 6 p.m. ET near Baracoa in Cuba’s Guantanamo province.

Two dead and hundreds rescued in New Mexico after Flash Flood Emergency in Roswell

At least two people were killed and hundreds of people were rescued in parts of New Mexico on the weekend after heavy rain and thunderstorms hit the Roswell area, leading to rare Flash flood emergencies because the water traps residents in their homes houses and vehicles became surrounded by rushing water.

City officials in Roswell said many motorists were stranded by the flooding and some people were forced to wait on top of their vehicles to be rescued. Some vehicles, officials said, were swept away by the rushing water.

Watch: Italian firefighters rescue dogs trapped in floodwaters

Towns in northern Italy are facing devastating flooding after heavy rainfall over the weekend, killing at least one person and requiring hundreds of water rescues. One video shows firefighters rescuing two dogs trapped in an animal shelter at the time of the flood.

At the end of the video, a photo shows a large white dog and the dog that was rescued in the video sitting next to a firefighter in a fire truck after the rescue.
