Deadly Tropical Storm Oscar is targeting the Bahamas

The impact of Tropical Storm Oscar has killed at least six people in Cuba as the weakening system refocuses on the Bahamas, where it first made landfall this weekend.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel made the announcement a day after the storm made landfall there Category 1 hurricane.

Oscar made landfall near Baracoa in Cuba’s Guantanamo province just before 6:00 PM ET on Sunday wind of 130 km/h – the second landfall of the day. Earlier Sunday, Oscar made its first landfall on Great Inagua Island in the Bahamas.

Tropical Storm Kristy forms off the coast of Mexico from the remnants of Nadine

The remnants of former Tropical Storm Nadine have reorganized into a new tropical storm in the eastern Pacific Ocean Ocean off the south coast Mexico.

Because this is not Nadine’s native distribution, the National Hurricane Center has given it the following name on the Eastern Pacific Ocean Nomenclature: Tropical storm Kristy.

It is predicted that Kristy will step up to 1 hurricane by Wednesday. However, the FOX Forecast Center said the storm is not expected to impact land areas as it remains over the open waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean.
