Central America has the highest tornado threat since May

The threat of severe weather in the central US is putting millions of people on alert for strong weather events thunderstorms This could cause damage on Wednesday wind, hail And tornadoes.

Dozens dead in Spain as catastrophic floods ravage Valencia

At least 51 people have died in Spain after heavy rain fell for hours in eastern parts of the European country, including Valencia, sending water rushing through mountains and pushing rivers and streams beyond their banks.

The rise in the death toll marks Europe’s worst flooding disaster since 2021, when nearly 200 people died, mostly in Germany.

Cities across the region are flooded and countless people have been rescued from the raging waters. Government officials have urged people to seek higher ground and, if possible, stay on the upper floors of homes and businesses.

A NASA And European spacecraft watched as a newly discovered comet called the “Halloween comet” died after its close approach to the sun.

According to NASA, the SOHO spacecraft captured the video below of comet C/2024 S1 ATLAS shooting toward the sun. It reached its closest approach to the sun, known as perihelion, at 7:30 a.m. ET on Monday.
