Yesterday was Wordle Wednesday and like every Wednesday I always add an extra challenge: a riddle, a brainteaser or some kind of logic puzzle. Yesterday’s is from a movie (extra points if you can guess which one). Today I give you the answer.

Wednesday’s riddle:

What counts more: all the trains that pass through Grand Central Station in one day, or all the trees that are cut down in a year to print American money?

The answer is they both weigh the same: nothing. Trains do not pass through Grand Central Station, but through Grand Central Terminal. And the US currency is not printed on paper made from trees.

Here is the clip from the movie Inside man, which I haven’t seen in years – probably not since 2006 when it came out. What a great cast! I’ll add this to my queue.

I have a good feeling about today’s guessing game. I got off to a great start with SHARE, leaving me with just five possible solutions, two yellow boxes and a green ‘E’. The words I came up with mostly had the letter ‘T’, so I chose BATHE, and since the Wordle didn’t have a T, this ended up being a very good guess. Only half remained. Huzzah!

I get 1 point for guessing three points and another point for beating the Bot, who made four attempts today. 2 points! Huzza again!

How to Play Competitive Wordle

• Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
• If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. In case of a draw you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or play for a new score every day.
• Friday is 2XP, which means you double your points: positive or negative.
• You can keep a running tally or just play day by day. Enjoy!
