Sunday marked the first “start” of Tom Brady’s new career.

The seven-time NFL Super Bowl champion made his debut in the FOX Sports broadcast booth on Sunday as an analyst for the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game.

Brady was in the booth with Kevin Burkhardt. Greg Olsen had that spot in the booth last year, but on Sunday he was the analyst for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Atlanta Falcons game.

What Tom Brady Said in His First NFL Broadcast

“We’re here, it’s been quite a journey,” Brady said at the opening of the broadcast.

Brady spent the better part of the opening segment talking about the quarterbacks on both sides of the ball, from discussing Dak Prescott’s new contract to Deshaun Watson’s potential return after an injury-plagued 2023 season.

Brady said Prescott had the best season of his career in 2023.

Tom Brady’s FOX Sports contract

In 2022, Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX Sports. His debut in the broadcast booth was delayed after he came out of retirement to play one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady’s contract with FOX is worth more than what he earned during his 23-year active career (just under $333 million).

Tom Brady’s Connection to Las Vegas Raiders

Brady is reportedly set to become a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Last month, ESPN reported that if Brady were to become an NFL team owner, he would face restrictions on his broadcasting career. Due to the league’s anti-gambling and anti-rigging policies, he would not have full access to the broadcast teams he is accustomed to. Those restrictions were in place for the Cowboys-Browns game.

Brady was not allowed to watch the other team’s practices, enter their training facilities or attend broadcast meetings (in person or virtually). He was also not allowed to criticize teams or officials.
