Tom Dolan Dies at 75

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Tom Dolan has died at the age of 75, his family confirmed to KOLO 8 News Now Friday morning.

Dolan was born in Minnesota and came to Reno in 1969.

After graduating from UNR, he began his automotive career at Reno Dodge, where he worked for Don Weir Sr.

He later bought that dealership and turned it into Dolan Toyota and eventually the Dolan Auto Group.

In 2015, he announced that a lung transplant was needed as a cure for pulmonary fibrosis.

In 2019, he donated to Renown to bring a pulmonary rehabilitation program to Northern Nevada.

Over the years, the Dolans have given millions back to the community.

The Dolan family released a statement following his death:

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Tom Dolan, on Thursday, September 12th. He was an incredible part of our family and a great pillar of the community. His generosity, kindness and dedication to improving the lives of others will be his lasting legacy. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Details of the service will be shared in the coming days.”
