Travis Kelce, NFL Tight Ends Sets Record for Most Catches by TEs in a Single Day | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

On National Tight End Day, tight ends across the league delivered standout performances, piling up the touchdowns and setting a new record during Sunday’s games.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce scored his first touchdown of the season on a five-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes, while Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram hauled in an impressive touchdown catch in traffic to close the tie the game with less than two minutes to go.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who founded the day of recognition in 2018, made the 175th reception of the evening, according to the NFL’s Dante Koplowitz-Fleming.

By the end of National Tight Ends Day, the league recorded 177 receptions by tight ends – a new single-day record – and 16 touchdowns.

Overall, it was the most productive day in NFL history for tight ends, making this National Tight End Day one to remember.
