Trump blacklists billionaire Jamie Dimon from the new administration

As Donald Trump begins to fill seats in his administration, the newly elected president announced that Jamie Dimon would not join his future Cabinet. “I greatly respect Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase, but he will not be invited to join the Trump administration,” Trump wrote in a social media post on Thursday. Despite Dimon never supporting Trump and claiming the chances of him joining a Trump administration were “almost zero,” there was speculation before the election that the JPMorgan Chase CEO would be a possible pick for Treasury Secretary. However, the president-elect’s announcement confirmed a Reuters report last week in which a source said Dimon would remain at the bank, which he has led for nearly two decades. With the billionaire banker out of the running, sources claim that billionaire banker Howard Lutnick and investor Scott Bessent are the current top candidates for the Cabinet role.
