This comment was met with some chuckles throughout the room and he noted in the press: “The people leaving at the back now will write that I said that.”

Johnson introduced Trump. Representatives Elise Stefanik (whom Trump chose as US ambassador to the UN), Steve Scalise, Tom Emmer and Richard Hudson were also on stage.
