Trump to make remarks in Henderson | Politics and government

Republican leaders are calling a large crowd at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson this afternoon ahead of a campaign speech by former President Donald Trump.

Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald told the crowd that men who support Vice President Kamala Harris are “beta,” and men who support former President Donald Trump are “alpha.” He called Republican Senate candidate Sam Brown to the stage and said he is running for the working man and is a war hero. The crowd gives him a standing ovation and chants ‘USA’.

Later, Senate candidate Sam Brown says in an interview that he feels good about the state of the race and that he has momentum. He sees new voters with a low propensity to vote. He said he will vote on Election Day. When asked how he votes on Nevada’s voting questions, he declined to answer.

Earlier, Gov. Joe Lombardo, who has not spoken this cycle, spoke at a Trump rally in Southern Nevada. He encouraged his supporters to vote Republican at the ballot box, especially in legislative races. Lombardo has been active in preventing a Democratic supermajority in both houses, which would challenge his veto power.

Tension had been building hours earlier as long lines formed outside Lee’s Family Forum.

Today is Nevada Day, but some rallygoers picked up the Halloween theme, including Las Vegas resident Mylissa Kurz, who dressed as Morticia Addams. She said she likes how the country ran under him and is happy with his plans to ban the tax on tips.

Other costumes spotted included a rally goer’s dog wearing a spider costume.

Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally today in Henderson at Lee’s Family Forum in the final step of the campaign before the Nov. 5 election.

His Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, will hold her own rally later today in North Las Vegas. The rallies of both presidential candidates will take place near the end of Nevada’s early voting period, which ends Friday.

Republicans have taken the lead on early voting in this election, reflecting the change in the campaign’s message to encourage its supporters to vote using every available method, including mail-in ballots and early voting rather than just on Election Day. Democrats have led the way in returning mail-in ballots.

Trump will speak today at 3:30 p.m.
