The city of Austin has warned residents of possible road closures and traffic delays, especially routes to and from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Officials expect all lanes of Highway 71 between Highway 183 and Woodward Street near St. Edward’s University to be closed, including front roads. The same goes for Highway 183 between Highway 71 and Burleson Road near the airport.

Closures are not expected to impact I-35.

The city posted the following tips for traveling through Austin today:

• Allow extra driving time and plan alternative routes to avoid delays.
• Use public transport if possible. Please note that some routes may be modified due to road closures.
• Avoid parking along the route.
