Tulsi Gabbard Explains Why She Backed Trump Over Kamala Harris

Former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard spoke candidly about her decision to endorse former President Trump in the 2024 race over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Gabbard officially endorsed Trump on Monday at the 146th Annual General Conference of the National Guard Association of the United States in Detroit, hours after the former president laid wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the lives of 13 U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at Abbey Gate in 2021.

“We know how important it is to have a commander in chief who values every life and who has the strength and courage to use all diplomatic means, to deal with dictators, allies, adversaries and partners in the pursuit of peace, and who recognizes that war is always a last resort and must always be a last resort,” Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, said on “The Ingraham Angle.”

“I today endorsed President Trump because he has those qualities, and he has proven that he is that commander in chief. Kamala Harris has proven that she is not. We are now closer to the brink of nuclear war than ever before, closer to World War III because of Harris and Biden and their policies.”

The former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate slammed Harris’ leadership, questioning whether she had called the families of those killed or injured in the suicide bombing three years ago.

“There was a triple amputee (in Arlington) today to honor the loss of his siblings. Did she call them to apologize? To apologize for the decision they made that resulted in this disastrous withdrawal? And an explosion and an attack that took the lives of these 13 service members and that could have been completely prevented? Kamala Harris is completely unfit to serve as our commander in chief,” Gabbard told host Judge Jeanine Pirro.

In a 2021 interview with CNN, Harris said she was the last person in the room when President Biden decided to withdraw from Afghanistan.

“It’s not about Democrats versus Republicans. It’s about a president who stands for freedom, peace and prosperity, and that’s Donald Trump, versus a chairwoman in Kamala Harriswho attacks our freedoms and censors us and uses political retaliation, who has brought us to the brink of war and has created this economic hardship for Americans across the country. That is really the choice that we have before us.”
