Tyra Banks covered her return to the runway at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but it felt different from her previous experiences.

“What was different was that my boobs were 10 times bigger because I was about 40-50 pounds heavier on this runway than when I retired,” Banks, 50, joked during the Wednesday, Oct. 16, episode. The Drew Barrymore Show. “So I was like, ‘Don’t fall out, don’t fall out.'”

Banks, previously a fixture on the Victoria’s Secret runway from the ’90s, retired from the runway in 2005. She came out of retirement for the Tuesday, October 15, show, where she closed the presentation.

“When I was walking – and I talked to my husband about it – I was normally walking for myself,” Banks recalled. Drew Barrymore. “When I was a model, I walked for myself and I retired almost 20 years ago, but this time when I walked the Victoria’s Secret runway, I felt like everyone was in me.”

She continued, “Fifty-year-old women, insecure women; I just felt like there was more. I’m watching the playback and thinking, ‘Boom, boom, boom.’ I stomped because I felt like I was more of a vessel than it wasn’t just about me. It was different.”

Banks strutted down the catwalk in a black, bedazzled bra with a matching corset, leggings and a long cape.

Last month, Banks teased via TikTok that it felt “cray-cray good” to walk for the lingerie brand again.

“To be honest, I never thought I would be on this catwalk again. I still remember it – what it was like, 19 years ago – and I thought, ‘This is it,’” the supermodel said in her social media post in September. “And I remember all the press: ‘Tyra’s… last… walk.’ It was so over the top and I thought, ‘I’m out.’

Banks continued at the time: “My last walk was in this red outfit and I had medals around my waist. I had hair that was super long, crazy long eyelashes and a scepter with the ‘V’ in my hand, and I got to the end of the runway and kissed it and lifted it up and started pumping, pumping and in my head, I thought : ‘I’m gone.’ But you pulled me back in.”

“I think a lot of it had to do with my mother (Carolyn London). You know, at one point I was very, very thin and uncomfortable and felt unhappy about that,” Banks exclusively shared Us in March 2020. “She helped me get through that and said that my whole worth is not this skinny body and that one day it’s going to be a little heavier and you know, everything will be fine.”

She added: ‘And then I arrived and then the fashion industry said that was too big and she was there saying, ‘They won’t define you. You won’t lose weight for these people. Let’s find another clientele. Let’s find someone who can appreciate who you are and who you are becoming. ”
