Uber driver fatally shot in traffic accident near Las Vegas Strip, suspect located

A man was fatally shot in a traffic accident near the Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip, authorities said.

It was reported Monday around 4:04 p.m. at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Palazzo Drive.

Authorities say the victim and suspect were driving through the intersection and were involved in what is believed to be a road rage incident.

The victim, described as a white male adult in his 50s, was shot in the neck after approaching the suspect’s vehicle, according to preliminary details.

Police say the man was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee and was an Uber driver with two passengers who were driving behind the suspect before the confrontation.

After the shooting, the suspect drove away from the scene in a silver Subaru WRX, but was later identified and was located in the area of ​​Washington and Torrey Pines.

Police say a woman in her 20s was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

Additionally, authorities added that both the victim and suspect were armed with a firearm, but no shots were fired by the suspect.

The lanes in the area have now reopened and there are currently no outstanding suspects.
