FOLLOW ALL THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ACTION ON TUESDAY, NOV 7 5 WITH THE LIVE BLOG OF SI FOOTBALL

The Champions League returns on November 5 with Real Madrid taking on AC Milan, Liverpool hosting Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and more in action. SI Soccer provides our predictions for the series of matches.

Prediction: Slovan Bratislava 1–2 Dinamo Zagreb

Bratislava is one of six teams that have not yet picked up a point in the Champions League. Despite playing at home, the team’s chances of qualifying for the next round become even slimmer as Dinamo Zagreb scores a big win on the road – Max Mallow

Prediction: PSV 2–2 Girona

Girona took the first victory of the competition phase against Slovan Bratislava last time. PSV took the second point after a draw against Paris Saint-Germain. The points here are shared between two teams hoping to move up the ladder: Max Mallow

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund 4–1 SK Sturm Graz

One thing is certain: this match will be full of goals. Borussia Dortmund have scored at least two goals in their first three games, including a 7-1 win over Celtic. The German team capitulated last time with a two-goal lead at halftime against Real Madrid. Expect another goal-fest here as Dortmund get back on track: Max Mallow

Prediction: Celtic 1–2 RB Leipzig

Leipzig are yet to earn a point in the Champions League, while Celtic came away with a point from Atalanta in a goalless draw. The Bundesliga team needs three points if it wants to rise in the rankings: Max Mallow

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 AC Milan

The defending champions will be eager to get back to winning ways after a dreadful defeat to Barcelona on October 26. Vinícius Júnior is also due for a statement match after losing the 2024 Ballon d’Or. Despite the team’s defensive commitments, it’s hard to imagine Real Madrid losing a Champions League match at home: Amanda Langell

Prediction: LOSC Lille 2–1 Juventus

Lille and Juventus won and lost respectively in the Champions League last time, as both teams are level on points. The French side have the advantage of playing at home, which will ultimately prove to be the difference in a tightly contested affair – Max Mallow

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Leverkusen

Liverpool welcome Xabi Alonso back to Anfield in one of the most exciting games of the week. Arne Slot’s team is one of two to remain perfect through three matches. With the Kop rocking, Liverpool make it 12 points from 12 in a statement win: Max Mallow

Prediction: Sporting CP 2–3 Manchester City

Viktor Gyökeres vs. Erling Haaland is one of the most exciting strikers in the Champions League. Rúben Amorim may be heading to Manchester United, but Sporting is one of the nine remaining undefeated teams. A sneaky bet for the best match to watch this Tuesday, with City ultimately getting the job done: Max Mallow

Prediction: Bologna 1–3 AS Monaco

Monaco were one of the surprise teams at the start of the competition phase, taking seven points from a possible nine. The Ligue 1 team only dropped points in a draw against Dinamo Zagreb, but bounced back with a 5-1 defeat to Crvena Zvezda last time out. Monaco gets its first road win in the competition phase: Max Mallow
