On Veterans Day, several restaurants are honoring those who served with free meals and special offers.

If you are a veteran, Newsweek has compiled a comprehensive list of places that will honor your service with a free meal or discount.

To get the most out of these deals, make sure you bring a valid military or veteran ID.

When is Veterans Day 2024?

Veterans Day, designed to honor all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, both those who are living and those who have died, is on Monday, November 11.

Which restaurants have offers and discounts for veterans?

From Applebee’s

For the 17th year in a row, Applebee’s is offering veterans and active-duty military personnel a special Veterans Day meal on Monday with their choice of entrees at all Applebee’s nationwide. However, this deal only applies to those dining in.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

Current and former military personnel who dine on Monday can receive a free piece of Pizookie® chocolate and a free appetizer coupon on their next visit.

Buffalo wild wings

For those looking for chicken wings, all former and current members of the Armed Forces can enjoy 10 free wings and boneless fries. This deal is available for dine-in only or, if ordering from a Buffalo Wild Wings GO location, for walk-in/counter orders only.

Pizza cuisine from California

For pizza lovers, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) is offering a free entree and drink from a prix fixe menu available on Mondays during dinner. In addition, all veterans and active duty members who dine at CPK on Veterans Day will receive a Purchase Prize. – Get one coupon. The discount voucher applies to any pizza, pasta or salad and can be redeemed for a future visit between November 12 and November 25, 2024.

Chilis

The restaurant chain also celebrates the holiday with a free meal as a small way to honor service members.

Olive garden

On Mondays, Olive Garden is offering every veteran and current member of the military who dines with them a free entree from our special menu.

Cracker barrel

For those wanting breakfast on Monday, veterans and active duty members dining can enjoy a complimentary Sunrise Pancake Special.

Denny’s and IHOP

Denny’s is offering a free Original Grand Slam® breakfast for veterans and active duty members at participating locations. In addition, IHOP is offering veterans and active military personnel a free red-white-blue pancake combo on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dunkin’ and Starbucks

Dunkin’ is thanking those who served a free donut on Monday without the need for ID. However, there is a limit of one per guest, while supplies last, and is only available in stores. Meanwhile, Starbucks is offering free 12 ounces of coffee to veterans, active military members and military spouses.

Academy Sports

For active service members, veterans and first responders, Academy Sports + Outdoors is offering a discount from October 20 to November 11, 2024. Because you can get 10 percent off your entire purchase online or in-store.

Amazon

The e-commerce store is also offering 20 percent off select items for Veterans Day, with no military ID required.

Great clips

Need a haircut? Great Clips offers veterans and active service members the opportunity to stop by on November 11th each year and get a free haircut, or a free haircut card for a future visit. Additionally, if you are not a military customer, you can visit a salon on November 11 and receive a free cutting card to give to a service member or veteran as a thank you gift.

Likewise, from October 6 to November 16, Sport Clips locations will launch the in-store “Help A Hero” fundraiser and participating stores will offer free haircuts for veterans and active duty service members on Veterans Day.

Goal

Target is offering a rare 10 percent two-use discount storewide with a Target Circle offer, valid in-store and online for all military personnel, veterans and their families. Plus, if you’re a Target Circle cardholder, you’ll get an additional 5 percent discount and free shipping on top of this Target Circle bonus.

Looking for something to celebrate Veterans Day? Several attractions across the country offer discounts and deals.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museumwill host a series of events and tributes for service members and veterans, as well as the families and communities that support them, from Thursday, November 7 through Monday, November 11. This year’s highlights include free museum admission for active and retired U.S. military personnel, veterans, Blue & Gold Star families and guests.

Knott’s Berry Farmin Buena Park, California, is offering discounted admission to Knott’s Berry Farm for active, retired and veteran military personnel themselves and up to five guests during Military Tribute Days, Monday through Thursday between November 4 and 21, 2024, and December 2 and 12 , 2024. Tickets can be purchased online for $25.

Other theme parks such as Six flags in California and Georgia, veterans and active-duty members offer free admission. Family and friends of veterans receive discounted admission to the park (maximum of four).

Additionally, zoos across the country will be offering similar offerings, such as the North Carolina Zoothe San Antonio Zooand the Nashville Zoo.

In the meantime, if we want to commemorate those who lost their lives, the National Museum of the First World War in Kansas City will offer free general admission for veterans and active duty military personnel and half-price general admission for the public during Veterans Day Weekend, Friday, November 8 through Monday, November 11.
